Chemistry Careers

CHEM G307 - Chemical Career Planning
This course is offered by the chemistry department to aid students in planning for careers in chemistry and related fields including academia (graduate school), professional careers (medicine), industry, and education. The course is offered in the spring and is meant to be taken the Junior year.

IU Careers in Chemistry Workshop
In the spring of 2005, Dr. Ken Miller, an IU alum who leads a successful career with GE, held a series of workshops to advise students pursuing careers in industry. Campus Career Resources

Career Development Center and Arts & Sciences Career Services
A free service to current IU students that lists job and internship announcements as well as a place for students to submit their resumes. These organizations also provide services and resources for internships, job placement, and other post-graduate options for all IU students. They offer Job Search and Career Development courses, career counseling, Career Fairs, a Career Resource Library, and an on-campus recruiting program.

Alumni Career Services
The IU Alumni Association has launched this online career and mentoring service for IU alumni. On the site, alumni can find and contact fellow IU alumni who are willing to offer career advice. In addition, alumni can search job listings submitted by employers who would like to hire IU graduates.

Health Professions and Prelaw Center
The Health Professions and Prelaw Information Center (HPPLC) provides a central location where students may obtain information regarding health professions and law school education and training. Their services include advising, assisting with collecting letters of recommendation & applying to schools, and an email list.

Admission Exam Information
IUB's Evaluation Services and Testing (BEST) serves as a test administration site for a number of national testing services, providing convenient local access to the SAT, GRE, ACT and other widely-used admissions and certification exams.
