Departmental Resources

CHAT (Chemistry Harmony Advisory Team) is composed of faculty members across all ranks, graduate students, a staff member, and the chair of the chemistry department. We work closely with our student-run Chemistry Graduate Research Committee (ChemGRC) to ensure that graduate student concerns in the departmental community are proactively identified and addressed. We work with faculty and associate instructors to support the development of supportive classrooms that allow for students at all levels and backgrounds to achieve their greatest potential.

ChemGRC addresses issues of both academic and social nature that pertain to the graduate student population. We foster a cooperative relationship and communication channel between faculty, staff, and graduate students concerning department policy and focus. In addition, the ChemGRC promotes the professional development of graduate students, supports concerns in constructive and tactful ways, and celebrates the academic and professional successes of Indiana University’s chemistry students.
