Nancy Ortiz

Nancy Ortiz joined the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University in 2008 to pursue a PhD in materials chemistry.  Nancy studied under the direction of Professor Sara Skrabalak.  During her graduate career, Nancy received numerous awards and fellowships including:  College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Student Fellowship Award and the College of Arts and Sciences Dissertation Fellowship. Upon completing her doctorate degree Nancy accepted a Senior Research Chemist position at ExxonMobil where she worked as a Mobil 1 engine oil formulator.  In 2019, she accepted a position as Development Laboratory Manager for the North American Rolling Division at Quaker Houghton where she is currently leading a team of chemists in developing product formulations used for steel and non-ferrous rolling applications.
