Doctorate of Philosophy in Chemistry

Students who have been admitted to the Indiana University School of Medicine and wish to work toward both the M.D. and Ph.D. degrees at Bloomington may apply for admission to the University Graduate School through the Department of Chemistry.

In addition to meeting the requirements for the research degree, a student in the combined degree program fulfills the requirements for all preclinical and clinical training including two years in clinical studies at the IU Medical Center in Indianapolis. Although a combined degree candidate meets all the normal requirements for both degrees, some of the courses taken for the Ph.D. will also meet certain preclinical medical school requirements.
