Milos V. Novotny Awarded the Jaroslav Janák Medal and Award

Distinguished Professor Emeritus Milos V. Novotny received the 2024 Jaroslav Janák Medal and Award during the 40th International Symposium on Microscale Separations and Bioanalysis in Brno, Czech Republic for his contributions to the development of analytical sciences. Since 2014, the Jaroslav Janák Award for the Development of Analytical Chemistry has been awarded by the Institute of Analytical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic to scientists who have made a significant contribution to the development of analytical chemistry through their work. Named after the inventor of the gas chromatograph (patented in 1952), the founder of the institute (1956), and its long-term director, the medal is awarded to scientists who have significantly contributed to the development of separation sciences.
