Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Coordinates distribution of supplies, chemical reagents and equipment for undergraduate teaching laboratories.
• Instructs students regarding the set-up of experiments and assists students in the appropriate methods of conducting lab experiments in coordination with the course associate instructors.
• Ensures students understand the scientific procedure and data collection. Provides detailed explanations of chemical concepts that will aid students in successful completion of the experiment. Troubleshoots issues related to reagents and instruments that arise during lab courses and resolves them quickly.

General Responsibilities

• Responsible for the initiation, monitoring, completion, and reporting of routine to moderately complex research studies.
• Organizes and implements data review and analysis.
• Oversees the proper handling of laboratory specimens including processes, shipping, storage, and documentation and transfer to designated central laboratories.
• Conducts data quality assurance practices.
• Prepares research summaries and assists in progress report development.
• Maintains laboratory work areas and supply inventory.

EDUCATION

Required

• Bachelor's degree in science or health-related discipline

WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

• 1 year of laboratory experience
