Travel and Research Guidelines, Fall Schedule

June 20, 2020

Following are a few updates on guidelines issued for travel, as well as updates made to College guidelines for research and the fall schedule.

  1. This website, https://iutravel.iu.edu/traveling/covid19-message.shtml, has updated guidelines on travel reimbursement, all international travel still being suspended except for humanitarian reasons, and caution over any domestic travel, particularly to covid hot spots.
  2. The College research restart plan posted here https://intranet.college.indiana.edu/faculty/2020-college-research-restart-plan.html will be updated with new recommendations with increased understanding of minimizing virus spread.
  3. If you have not yet done it, the Community Responsibility Acknowledgment form, which is available on https://one.iu.edu/, MUST be completed by ANYONE returning to campus.  This includes all faculty, students, and staff.
  4. University issued masks – ETA is now mid-July.  As yet another reminder, there is no ambiguity in any of the restart guidelines from Chemistry, Simon Hall, the College, the Campus, and the Vice President for Research on wearing masks.  Unless you are in your own office, or in certain laboratory situations when a cloth mask might absorb volatile chemicals, wear a mask.
  5. Course modality preferences have been submitted to the College (thank you, Martha!).  We anticipate the registrar’s office to release the revised fall schedule in mid-July.  Note that transit time between classes will be increased, which will change start times of classes relative to the normal class schedule.
