Yi Yi earned his Ph.D. degree in Polymer Chemistry from Peking University in 2004 under the direction of Professor Qi-Feng Zhou. His Ph.D. research focused on the design, synthesis and characterization of liquid crystalline polymers. From 2005 to 2008, he was a postdoctoral researcher developing innovative photopolymer materials with Professor Christopher Ober at Cornell University. Upon completing his postdoctoral research, he joined AZ Electronic Materials USA Corp., where he had been involved in research and development of performance polymer thin films and coatings for high resolution lithography till June 2012. He was a visiting researcher at IBM Almaden Research Center from February to June in 2012.
Yi Yi joined Indiana University in August 2012. His current research targets to develop functional polymeric materials particularly biocompatible polymers and block copolymers for advanced applications.
