Xinfeng (Frank) Gao received his B.S. degree in Electronics from Peking University, China, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from University of Missouri at Columbia. Prior to joining Indiana University he was a research scientist at Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, and a senior NMR spectroscopist and manager of the NMR application department at Bruker Instruments Ltd., China.

Dr. Gao has had broad interests in liquid state NMR methods, magnetic resonance instrumentation, molecular modeling, and scientific programming. His recent research focuses on multinuclear NMR application to the structural characterization of metal complexes and NMR study of the structure and binding of small peptides to large proteins and membrane mimics. He is currently managing the NMR facilities and the EPR lab at Indiana University, Bloomington.
