Sarah J. Cox-Vazquez earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Alma College in 2015. In 2020, she obtained her Ph.D. in Chemistry (Chemical Biology) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, under the guidance of Prof. Ayyalusamy Ramamoorthy. During her doctoral studies, she conducted research on the biophysical interactions of amyloids with membrane model systems. Following her Ph.D., Sarah took up a position as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, working under the mentorship of Prof. Guillermo Bazan. During this tenure, she focused on developing innovative dyes for applications in life science, which ultimately led to a successful commercialization effort in a startup company. In 2023, Sarah joined Indiana University Bloomington as part of their esteemed research faculty. Her current research pursuits primarily revolve around developing analytical methods to investigate extracellular vesicles.
