Maren Pink received her Diplom (M.S.) and Doctor rer. Nat. (Ph.D.) in Chemistry with Professor Joachim Sieler at the Universität Leipzig, Germany. She was a Marie Curie research fellow in the Photochemistry and Supramolecular Chemistry Group of Professor Vincenzo Balzani at the Universitä di Bologna, Italy, and a postdoctoral research associate in the X-ray Crystallographic Laboratory of the Chemistry Department at the University of Minnesota with Dr. Victor Young, Jr.

Maren is directing the Indiana University Molecular Structure Center, a service and research facility in the area of crystallography, and structural and materials chemistry. She is interested in X-ray diffraction methods, twinning, phase transitions, and solid state reaction mechanisms. She is the principal coordinator for the program Service Crystallography at the Advanced Photon Source (SCrAPS) and the Reciprocal Net project. She is also an associate editor for the Journal of Chemical Crystallography.
