Chad Cooley received his B.S. in Chemistry at Truman State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry at the University of Missouri working under the direction of Dr. Timothy Glass on the development of fluorescent molecular chemosensors for the detection of lipids involved in cellular apoptosis and atherosclerosis.
Chad teaches courses in organic and general chemistry. He is also developing an undergraduate research program focusing on development of new chemical sensors and exploring new redox reactions for organic compounds.
