Banruo Huang received his B.S. in Chemistry with highest honors from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2017. He then pursued his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, under the guidance of Prof. F. Dean Toste, where he developed novel catalytic transformations and organic materials. After earning his doctorate in 2022, Prof. Huang joined the University of California, Santa Barbara as a postdoctoral researcher with Prof. Craig J. Hawker, focusing on efficient polymer processing methods for 3D printing and upcycling applications.

Prof. Huang will join the Department of Chemistry at Indiana University Bloomington in January 2026. Research in the Huang Group will center on the interface of organic and polymer chemistry, developing innovative chemical strategies to achieve precise structural control, efficient manufacturing, and repurposing of functional soft materials.
