Kimberly Arnold, a Senior Lecturer in Chemistry, received her B.S. in Biochemistry from Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI, where she conducted undergraduate research with Dr. Kumar Sinniah. She went on to earn her MAT in Chemistry from Indiana University Bloomington in 2003.

With a strong focus on enhancing the curriculum for large enrollment courses, Kim is dedicated to creating a supportive, safe learning community where students can thrive. She actively incorporates technology and active learning strategies to foster engagement. In addition to teaching general chemistry courses (C101, C103, C116, C121, and C127), she has helped develop the Undergraduate Teaching Internship program, X371, creating new opportunities for student involvement and mentorship.

Currently, Kim is involved in the Crimson Course Transformation Initiative (CCTI) and is a fellow in the Mosaic Faculty Fellowship as well as the Decoding Transitions to College Project. Her contributions to teaching excellence were recognized in 2024 with her selection to FACET (the Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching).

Beyond her classroom responsibilities, Kim serves as the Faculty Advisor to the IU MEDLIFE student organization and collaborates with IU’s Advanced College Project (ACP) as a faculty liaison for dual credit chemistry courses for high school students.
