Jun Chen received her B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) from Tsinghua University of China in 2003. She received her M.S. in MSE from Tsinghua University of China in 2006 with thesis advisor Prof. Jing Zhu. She received her Ph.D. in MSE from University of Pennsylvania in 2012 with thesis advisor Prof. Christopher B. Murray and did postdoctoral work in Chemistry from University of Pennsylvania from 2012 to 2013. She worked at Western Digital Company as a research staff member from 2013 to 2016, focusing on applying nanomaterials and nanofabrication on hard disk drives. She joined Department of Chemistry at Indiana University at Bloomington in 2017 as an assistant scientist. She is interested in synthesis, fabrication and characterization of nano-structured materials.
