Students and postdocs at IU run and contribute to a number of different national organization chapters and University organizations. These groups provide unique opportunities to engage in advocacy, outreach, community building, networking, and and even research collaboration.
The National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to assisting black and other minority students and professionals in fully realizing their potential in academic, professional, and entrepreneurial pursuits in chemistry, chemical engineering, and allied fields. Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS)
MAPS at IUB is dedicated to encouraging, retaining, and empowering minority students pursuing careers as healthcare professionals. We strive to break down barriers of inequity and develop leaders of change by engaging in community service and outreach, promoting academic excellence and acknowledging cultural accomplishments.
