Undergraduate Programs
Four-year plans for students who started fall 2004 and before (on the PRE-2005 requirements)
The following four-year plans are based on the requirements listed for the Chemistry degrees in the College of Arts and Sciences Bulletin. While every effort was made to reflect the requirements from the bulletin accurately in these plans, students must use the bulletin to check to make sure their plan will include all the requirements for their degree. To find the bulletin for the year you matriculated (the year you started at IU), go to http://www.indiana.edu/~bulletin/iub/.

*Changes in course recommendations:
*1) C471 will not be offered anymore. Therefore students are recommended to take G207 or may take any other approved chemistry elective** in exchange for C471. C372 is also a nice alternative to C471.
*2) All BS Biochemistry and BS Chemistry majors are required to take the honors/majors S343 (not C343).
*3) C317 (2 cr.) and C318 (2 cr.) will be offered for the last time in spring 2006. After spring 2006, students will need to take A318 (4 cr.) which is equivalent to C317 and C318. A318 will be offered in spring only.
*4) A315 (2 cr.) is replacing C315 (3 cr) and P364 (2 cr.) is replacing C364 (3 cr.). The difference in hours can be made up by any approved chemistry lab elective**.
** CHEM electives to bring total chemistry hours to 45 may include C107, G207, A316, C409, C432, C437, C443, C460, P464. C437 is recommended as it will make the degree eligible for certification by the American Chemistry Society. Check the prerequisites for these courses when making plans. The following courses will not count toward the 45 hours: C103, C240, G307, and G499.
***One course in biochemistry (C483 or C484) is required. C483 is recommended.
It is recommended that Intensive Writing be completed prior to the Senior year.
