Driving Directions
Several web sites offer city-to-city directions and maps that may help you plan your trip:
From the North:
Take Indiana 37 South to the first Bloomington exit (College/Walnut Avenue). Continue south on one-way College Avenue into downtown Bloomington.
Turn left at the traffic signal at Seventh Street and College Avenue. Continue east on Seventh Street (10 blocks) to the Indiana Memorial Union. Turn right at the guard's gate into the circular drive that leads to the pay parking lot.
From the West and Southwest:
Take Indiana 45 or 48 to Indiana 37 Bypass. Turn left onto the 37 Bypass, continue north to the 46 Bypass. Turn right onto Indiana 46 Bypass. Turn right at the second traffic signal (College Avenue) and follow directions above through downtown Bloomington.
From the Northwest:
Follow Indiana 46 until it intersects College Avenue. Turn right at College Avenue and follow directions above through downtown Bloomington.
From the South:
Take Indiana 37 around Bloomington until you reach the intersection of 37 and 46. Turn right onto 46 Bypass, then right at the second traffic signal (College Avenue), and follow directions above through downtown Bloomington.
From the East:
On Indiana 46, you will enter Bloomington's residential and shopping area; 46 becomes East Third Street. At the College Mall shopping area, continue straight through the traffic signal on East Third (46 Bypass turns to the right at this intersection). Continue on Third Street (through traffic signals at High Street, Jordan Avenue, and Woodlwan Avenue) to a signal at Indiana Avenue. Turn right on Indiana (one-way north). Go four blocks north to the intersection with Seventh Street. Turn right onto Seventh Street. Continue east on Seventh Street (four blocks) to the Indiana Memorial Union. Turn right at the guard's gate into the circular drive that leads to the pay parking lot.
Air Travel
The Indianapolis International Airport is recommended as a destination for air flights. Limousine and a shuttle service are available to Bloomington from Indianapolis. The one-way distance is approximately 50 miles. You can contact the Bloomington Shuttle at 1-800-589-6004 or Classic Touch Limousine at 812-339-7269 for reservations.
Campus Parking
Parking on campus is restricted. Visitors may park at a parking meter or in an attended parking lot, or they may purchase a visitor parking permit at the Indiana Memorial Union Hotel desk. Hourly parking is permitted in the two Indiana Memorial Union lots.
