Tenure-Track or Tenured Faculty Positions

Biochemistry / All Ranks 

The Department of Chemistry at Indiana University has a distinguished record of scientific achievement and is in the midst of significant additions to its faculty. Several new initiatives are underway in Bloomington Indiana , including the completion of a new center for interdisciplinary research. We invite applications for tenure-track faculty in biochemistry beginning August 2008. Successful candidates will possess outstanding credentials and be expected to develop a vigorous, independent research program. All faculty members contribute to teaching and curricular development. Candidates with interests in all aspects of biochemistry but especially areas such as chemical biology, structural biology and proteomics will be considered in a new human biology program. Individuals of advanced stature with proven performance in research and teaching are encouraged to apply and will be considered at the associate or full professor level.

Applicants must specify the area or areas in which they have special competence and include a Curriculum vitae . A PhD degree in chemistry is required and postdoctoral experience is strongly preferred. Assistant Professor candidates should include a summary of future research plans and arrange to have four letters of recommendation forwarded to the Department. Organic and Analytical Chemistry / All Ranks

Physical, Inorganic and Materials Science / All Ranks

Several new initiatives are underway within the Department of Chemistry, including the completion of a new center for interdisciplinary research. We invite applications for tenure-track faculty at the assistant professor level in physical, inorganic, and materials science beginning August 2008. Successful candidates will possess outstanding credentials and be expected to develop a vigorous, independent research program. Additionally, all faculty members contribute to teaching and curricular development. Candidates are especially welcome from emerging and interdisciplinary areas, especially those pertaining to organic chemistry. Those with expertise in materials science or molecular assembly will be considered in a new interdisciplinary science initiative. Individuals with proven performance in research and teaching are encouraged to apply and will be considered at the associate or full professor level.

Electron Microscopist Researcher and Facility Manager Position

Applications are being accepted for an Electron Microscopist Researcher and Facility Manager. Indiana University Bloomingon is purchasing a 300 kV FEG TEM designed for both biological and material science applications, including cryo, tomography, EDS, and EELS spectroscopy.  Qualified applicants will have at least 2 years of experience, priority given to those with cryo, low-dose, or tomography experience.  Responsibilities include data collection, user training, and scope maintenance.  Possibility for teaching lectures and workshops, if interested.
